Front tyre pressure

thought the Katoom handled a bit differently yesterday had lots of confidence into corners with the front end feeling light, tight and gripping. Have tube in the tyre at the moment not a mousse. Thought I'd better check tyre pressure as I liked the handling so much. So went a bought a pukka pressure gauge rather than the one on the tyre inflator I have which runs up to 300psi. I was running 30 psi yesterday.....I liked it ! Sowhat's normal ive only had mousses for past five years?

Dunno about the front, but Ian runs 220psi on the back tyre of the KDX.

Just pump it up as much as you can.  That way, when you get a puncture, you'll be able to get home before all the air escapes.

Hope that helps?

12-15psi front and rear, or I tend to ride with a puncture a lot. 30psi is way too much for a nobbly on the road

So you mean I will get lots of punctures running that pressure Dave....? It was great hammering into corners thinking the front was gonna stick. I may go down Tubliss route for the front too.

Nah I was just using the cheap tubes for a while so my own fault. Got to admit I used to always run 30psi untill I was told different, felt the difference off-road but couldn't notice it on road. Wish I could afford the tubliss :(

Cheers Dave it is reassuring to know I'm not a loon for liking that seemingly too high tyre pressure. Ref the cost of tubliss £75 (19 inch) to buy and £20 to fit along with a new sprocket.
